“Junk Car” by The Michael Jordan Touchdown Pass
I would like to start a band one day. But it would be kind of pointless because we’d just be a ripoff of MJTP. The band name is the best too cuz it plays off of my love of Michael Jordan.
I want to Upload King Kong Vs. The US Army cuz it is my favorite MJTP song but it’s on another computer that no longer has intranetz. Maybe one day.
11th Street Kids(zz?) by Hanoi Rocks
Scandinavian people have emotions too you know.
Another Girl, Another Planet by The Only Ones
I’m told the Only Ones wrote other songs, but I assume they weren’t any good.
This one is.
Final Solution - Pere Ubu
Pere Ubu. What can I say. They are artsy. Too artsy on occasion. Sometimes just artsy enough.
This song is pretty straightforward and is one of my favorites from them. A good intro for sure.
I enjoy the solo.
I Love the Sound of Breaking Glass by Nick Lowe
The JESUS of cool.
I’ve had an infatuation with this song since I heard it on college radio.
Love the piano break.
Tuesday Morning by The Pogues
Everyone knows the Pogues but did you know that there was a time when Shane MacGowan wasn’t in the band?!
yep. Joe Strummer filled in for him a bit on tour and this particular song is from Waiting For Herb the first album without their famous, alcoholic, zombie-esque front man .
It’s a favorite of mine.
Mafe Wo by Alex Konadu’s International Band!
FUCK YEAH!!! African music!!!!
Highlife is good times. Africa gets a lot of shit from the wrest of the world for being so supposedly awful but I think that is just cuz most people don’t understand that there are multiple countries on that continent and that some of those countries produce some of the finest food, architecture, beer, people and music that this world has to offer.
This band is Ghanan. Ghana makes loads of good stuff.
If you are a sucker for jangly guitars and bitchin’ horn sections
you’ll like this. I like to listen to this at night in a car.
Life by FLIPPER
FLIPPER!!!!!!!!!!!
I like to throw on a cape and play bass to Generic cuz it’s just so delightfully groovy.
I guess that is what happens when you take a lot of downers and attempt to play punk.
The lyrics to this song are the truest lyrics ever.
Goodbye In French by Rice Harvester
I know nothing about these guys. Or gals. Or combination thereof. Nothing.
I got this EP from another UGer.
This is the best song from that EP.
It starts loud.
Dark Time Came to The Hill - Pine Hill Haints
A band not unfamiliar to the p0nx among us even though their sound ain’t really all that p0nx.
This song’ll make you wanna crack out the moonshine and make a bass out of a washtub. In the best way possible.
